Moment in Time Exhibition
I really loved this project. The concept for this identity is pausing time/capturing a moment.
For the actual motif, I took inspiration from the camera lens; the optical device that consists of a curved material that allows light to pass through it. Capturing a moment yet allowing it to pass through time, such is the message of the two chosen photos from this collection. The circle/dot symbolises the pause in time.
The juxtaposition of the circle, with the fluid movement of the dancer/couple in the photographs successfully portray a ‘captured’ ‘moment in time’. Time is a bemusing concept, so to capture a moment of it through photography is almost magical. When we bring the final elements; the title and the line to focus (again relating back to the technical aspect of photography; focus, aperture, composition) we complete the process every photographer goes through. This identity is very much about telling a story and wanting to know more.
Over 50 years ago, pioneering collectors Beaumont and Nancy Newhall assembled an impressive selection of works spanning the history of photography.
